Our CEU series is continuing with Tier III FBAs (December Workshop) and function-based intervention trainings (January). Check back soon for details on a data collection series, likely available in February. I'm also working on creating an "on demand" library for trainings so join my mailing list if you want to be notified when it is ready!
Live events are held virtually (zoom) and are recorded. Attending the live event is free. CEUs plus access to the recording can be purchased for $10 per event. Recordings will be sent out within 3 days of the live event and once sent you will have access to the recording for 30 days. In order to gain a BACB CEU certificate, participants must watch the full video and respond correctly to the code words to verify attendance. Refunds are not provided if you do not access the recorded content and earn CEUs within the 30 day window. ABA-ish is an organizational ACE provider. This means our events are approved events which will be accepted by the BACB but it is not an endorsement (BACB does not endorse any event or CE products).

Event #1: Teaching Students Regulation Skills - This training reviews what regulation skills are and when/why regulation skills are necessary for students. The training reviews teaching strategies as well as covers a wide array of potential regulation skills that may be appropriate for use in the school setting. This training is aimed at individuals with a general knowledge of behavior analytic teaching strategies who are looking to expand their skillset and knowledge for direct teaching of regulation skills. If purchased of CEUs is selected, participants will earn 1.0 general learning CEUs. This event will occur live (via zoom) on Wednesday March 6, 2024 from 4:00PM - 5:00PM (central time).
Event #2: Teaching Students Replacement Skills - This training reviews what replacement skills are and when/why direct teaching of replacement skills is a necessary support for students who engage in challenging behavior. The training reviews teaching strategies as well as covers a wide array of potential replacement skills based on behavioral function. The training is aimed at individuals with a general knowledge of behavior function and behavior analytic teaching strategies who are looking to expand their skillset and knowledge for direct teaching of replacement skills. If purchased of CEUs is selected, participants will earn 1.0 general learning CEUs. This event will occur live (via zoom) on Wednesday March 13, 2024 from 4:00PM - 5:00PM (central time).
This workshop is aimed to teach participants how to use trial-based functional analyses within school settings. Given empirical evidence repeatedly suggests that indirect and descriptive assessments are unreliable predictors of behavioral function, it is critical that behavior analysts working in schools are well-versed in functional analysis methodologies that can be realistically applied in school settings. Trial-based functional analyses are a wonderful option for balancing true analysis procedures which are empirically supported for function identification and practicality of use.
Participants will learn the logic behind trial-based functional analyses, how to design trial-based functional analyses with minimal disruption to student and teacher schedules, when trial-based functional analyses are appropriate for use, how to implement trial-based functional analyses, and how to collect and interpret trial-based functional analysis data. Participants will also learn how to discuss trial-based functional analyses with stakeholders who may not be familiar with analysis procedures or who may be resistant to such analyses. Participants will work through several example cases and apply what they have learned regarding trial-based functional analyses to complete mock cases.
The workshop includes more than 3 hours of recorded content. Recorded sessions will be released on March 10, 2024. Participants will earn 4.0 BACB general learning continuing education credits for consuming the recorded content. In addition to the trial-based functional analysis content, participants will also be given access to optional recorded trainings from 2023 on Tier I and Tier II functional behavior assessments (each training is worth 1.0 BACB general learning continuing education credits) at no additional charge.
Participants will sign up for 1 of 6 live 2-hour sessions (125 minutes which translates to 2.5 BACB general learning CEUs). Sessions will be capped at 10 participants in order to maximize active learning opportunities for those who attend. During the live session, participants will work as a team to complete mock trial-based functional analysis cases. Participants will be given general information and then work through each step of the trial-based functional analysis starting with interviewing staff, determine what the trials will look like, determining when the trials will be run, analyzing data from the mock trials, and interpreting the data. Active participation during the live session is highly recommended in order to get the most out of the learning experience.
Option #1: Monday April 8, 2024 10:00 am - 12:05 pm (central time)
Option #2: Monday April 8, 2024 1:00 pm - 3:05 pm (central time)
